DIY Anne's step-by-step plan

  1. Prepare the magazine well. Anne chose to completely sand and round the top.
  2. If applicable: mark out where notches should be made. Anne had to make some notches with the jigsaw because there were some pipes in the way.
  3. Making the supporting structure. Because it is a fairly heavy top, Anne chose to make a sturdy supporting structure. With a hammer drill she mounted 2 beams across the wall. She could then install the long beams on this. Easy and practical!
  4. Assembling the top also went smoothly. However, it is advisable to lift the top onto the construction with 2 men. Or you really have to be very strong.
  5. And tada... let the furnishing begin!
