Description
As our kitchen has gradually expanded over the years, we've needed more storage space. I solved this by putting a fridge-freezer next to the old fridge and using the space beside it as a cupboard. But how do you get nice, matching shelves — especially if you're not very handy with wood?
Install shelves for more storage space!
Measuring and ordering via TOSIZE.lu was surprisingly easy. After entering the measurements, I placed wooden beams using a double spirit level. I secured them with short screws and wood glue.
When the boards were delivered (neatly packaged and undamaged), I could get started right away. I placed the boards in the cupboard and secured them firmly with short screws and some glue. I finished the sides with transparent sealant — they still look a bit rough in the photos, but after sanding, they looked smooth. And just like that, the project was completed in a day!
Shelves made of Plywood Birch B/BB
For this project, I first measured the inside dimensions of the cabinet — fortunately, they were the same everywhere. I then ordered five shelves from TOSIZE.lu made from Plywood Birch B/BB with a thickness of 24.0 mm. This material is sturdy, durable and matches the colour of the inside of the cupboard nicely.
The shelves measure 57.0 × 56.4 cm (rectangular) and I had the front rounded off for a softer and neater look.
The result is a practical, sturdy cabinet with extra storage space — exactly what we needed!
